A sacristan is someone who prepares the worship space for liturgy. This can include opening doors, turning on the lights, lighting candles and setting out the bread and wine used for liturgy. At the end of liturgy, the sacristan also helps to put things away in readiness for the next liturgy.
Training: This is provided and involves working with an experienced sacristan until you are confident working on your own.
Scheduling: The time commitment can vary between 1-2 hours, depending upon the liturgy you choose to serve.
